The accountability partner that actually remembers.
Softkeel is a voice companion for your phone. You talk to it like a person. It learns what matters to you, brings things up on its own, and holds you to what you said you’d do — with as much or as little push as you ask for.
Everything Softkeel learns about you is stored encrypted on your own device. We don’t keep a copy.
Why “keel”
Something steady underneath you.
A keel is the fin under a boat. You never see it. It’s the only reason the boat holds a line instead of sliding sideways every time the wind shifts.
Most people don’t need more information about what they should be doing. They need something steady underneath them — something that noticed you said you’d go to the gym on Tuesday, and asks about it on Tuesday. Not an app you have to remember to open. Not another list that grows while you’re not looking.
How it works
Three things, and then it takes over.
Tell it about your life
A short conversation, not a signup form. Who matters to you, what you’re working toward, what your week actually looks like.
It remembers
People, places, dates that matter, and every thing you said you were going to do. You can see the whole picture any time, and delete any of it.
It comes back to you
Check-ins, alarms and nudges that arrive on their own — because it’s Tuesday and you said Tuesday, not because you opened an app.
What it does
Less like software. More like someone who’s paying attention.
Talk, don’t type
A real spoken conversation with a natural voice. Choose who you talk to — the voice you pick becomes their name and their manner.
It speaks first
Softkeel starts the conversation. The nudge arrives on its own, which is the entire difference between a reminder and being held to something.
You set the intensity
Anywhere between a gentle “how’d that go?” and a voice that will not let you snooze in peace. Say check in less and it eases off. Say stop and it stops.
Alarms that don’t lose
Real alarms, with escalation. Say you’re up while you’re plainly still horizontal and it will have something to say about that.
It learns your places
Teach it home, work, the gym. Then it can notice when you’re not where the plan said you’d be. Entirely optional, and off until you switch it on.
It remembers your people
Birthdays, names, who you were worried about last week. It asks after them, because that’s what someone paying attention does.
Who it’s for
Anyone who does better when someone’s checking.
- You’re building a habit — the gym, the earlier alarm, the daily walk — and week three is where it usually dies.
- You live alone, or your days are loose, and honestly nobody would notice either way.
- You set goals on Sunday that are gone by Wednesday.
- You’re the one everyone else leans on, and your own list keeps sliding to the bottom.
- You’re working toward something specific — a weight, a distance, a deadline — and the hard part isn’t knowing what to do.
- You have ADHD, or you’re simply someone who starts more things than they finish.
Softkeel is a personal motivation and organisation tool for adults. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose, treat or manage any health condition, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
Privacy
What it learns about you never leaves your phone.
To be useful, Softkeel has to know real things about your life. So the picture it builds is the one thing we made sure we could never hold.
This isn’t a policy position we could quietly reverse later. It’s where the data physically lives.
-
On your device
Your history is stored locally, encrypted
The people, places, dates and goals Softkeel learns live in an encrypted database on your phone (AES‑256, under a key held in your phone’s hardware keystore). There is no copy on our servers for us to read, lose or be asked for.
-
In the moment
Conversation is processed, not filed
Holding a conversation means what you say travels over an encrypted connection to be turned into a reply and spoken back. We don’t store your conversations in a database, and we never sell anything to anyone.
-
Your backups
Locked with a code only you hold
Softkeel can write an encrypted backup to a folder you choose, so your history survives a new phone. It’s sealed with a recovery code that only you have — lose it and nobody, including us, can open that backup.
-
Your call
You can see it and delete it
Everything Softkeel knows is visible in the app, in plain language, and any part of it can be wiped on the spot.
Softkeel is in private beta.
It runs on Android, it’s being built carefully, and testing places are limited while we get it right. Tell us a little about what you’re trying to stay on top of.
